Trinseo is certified under the Responsible Care Management ® (RCMS), a comprehensive framework developed by the American Chemistry Council (ACC) to promote excellence in health, safety, security, and environmental performance. This certification applies to Trinseo’s scope of operations globally and underscores the company’s commitment to Responsible Care® principles.
The RCMS certification is equivalent to RC14001, integrating elements of environmental management, occupational health and safety, security, and product stewardship into a single cohesive system. It aligns closely with international standards like ISO 45001, which specifically addresses occupational health and safety management systems.
While ISO 45001 focuses on ensuring a safe and healthy workplace by preventing work-related injuries and illnesses, RCMS and RC14001 extend this focus to include broader sustainability goals, environmental stewardship, product safety, and security practices. The RCMS certification verifies the company’s alignment with Responsible Care core values and objectives and requires a demonstration of compliance with the Responsible Care Management System® (RCMS) Technical Specification and three codes of practice (Product Safety Code, Process Safety Code, and Security Code).

ISO 13485: Products which supplied into medical applications, are designed and manufactured in facilities which are certified against the medical device standard ISO 13485.
ISO 14021:2016: specifies requirements for self-declared environmental claims, including statements, symbols and graphics, regarding products. It further describes selected terms commonly used in environmental claims and gives qualifications for their use. This International Standard also describes a general evaluation and verification methodology for self-declared environmental claims and specific evaluation and verification methods for the selected claims in this International Standard.
Rho: For the production of the following “R-Life” products, has been verified according to applicable paragraphs of ISO 14021:2016 “Environmental Labels and declarations – Self declared environmental claims (Type II environmental labelling)”, particularly according to chapter 7.8 “Recycled Content."
Hsinchu: The inventory of Recycled Material Verification in year 2021/07 to 2022/06 of Taiwan Trinseo LTD. has been verified in accordance with ISO 14021(compliance with Article 5.1 General, 7.7 Recyclable, 7.8 Recycled content) and 2011/65/EU requirements and internal procedure/self-declared of Taiwan Trinseo LTD.

RCMS® Statement of Conformity, Corporate Certification
Operation Clean Sweep (OCS) is an industry-led program that aims to eliminate plastic resin loss during operations (such as pellets, flakes, and powders), preserving environment and enhancing worker safety. The OCS certification scheme was launched by the Plastics Industry Association, in 2022 and became operational in February 2023. All Trinseo plastic pellets handling facilities are working towards becoming OCS certified.
